Jayball 2011

Here are Jacob’s baseball highlights from his Jayball – June and July 2011.

Seth’s first hair cut

Once upon a time there was a little boy who needed a haircut.  Unfortunately for this boy he had terrible parents, who didn’t watch him close enough and his 7-year-old brother gave him his first haircut (terrifying to think about a scissor that close to my baby’s eyes – and for posterity purposes only it was the 3-year-old daughter who was the tattle-tale).  After vowing that they would watch this poor 4th child and lecturing the 7-year-old for hours, we went ahead and gave the baby his “first” real haircut.  Sadly the first attempt was not successful, since the baby was crabby and could not be bribed by candy.  So it was necessary to wait until happier times, which arrived the very next day.  Buckling him into the wagon, his favorite way to travel – mommy proceeded to distract while daddy hacked at the mop of blonde curls until a suitable length occurred.  And here are some before and afters:  (oh and by the way, the one in the blue swing is probably going to be used for his presidential head shot, guess I should have put on his tie for that formal shot)

first days of school

Here are our first days of school.  Last Thursday was Jacob’s first day, but of course with the mom I am I was too worried and stressed to remember the camera – so what you are seeing in  the pics below are actually Jacob’s second morning of school on Friday.  And if you are wondering – he wore a red Mario t-shirt for his first day.  And no he didn’t wear the hat all day, he left it in the car before he went in.  Can you believe this guy is a 1st grader?  Maybe someday I will get used to the fact that they are going to grow up, not that I have a choice in the matter.

Next you will see Isaac on his first day – I did remember the camera today (he started two days after Jacob on Monday, because our school has started a new program where they are assessing how smart the kindergarten kids are before they start the school year, so Isaac had a 30 minute assessment appointment on Friday, which he told us he got 100 points on, must be good right?)  Anyhow, the first day of school couldn’t go completely without hiccups.  As I was getting the kids out of the car to go into school I picked up Seth and his messy diaper had leaked all over – of course I didn’t have time to change it so I just had to carry the leaky poop monster into school smelly and drippy all over my shirt.  I don’t think anyone noticed (even Isaac).  We gave our first day good-bye hugs, one last picture at his desk, and Annie, Seth and I were off to our new adventure of being home all by ourselves.  The last pics you will see are what we did on our first morning.

nephew’s graduation party

Happy graduation to my awesome nephew.  Here are a few pictures from his party back in June, we had so much fun!

Isaac’s June t-ball highlights

T-ball was Tuesday and Thursday mornings in June.  Isaac had a few of his friends that played with him including above his buddy Conner.  We will have to see if his baseball career continues next year or if he will want to try something new.  (maybe it will depend upon how well he remembers how bored he was in the outfield?)

Amazing Morning

Good Morning World! Last night the most amazing thing happened – I slept through the entire night. Yep, that’s right folks in the last 7.5 years, I cannot remember the last time I slept completely through the whole night. No one cried, no one came into my bed, and no one had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night – INCLUDING ME! It was awesome to wake up at 6:45 and feel that refreshed. Truely amazing! Hope you had an amazing moring too!
